Mereside Farm was originally part of the Duke of Westminster’s estate, and whilst the farmhouse dates back to the 1770’s, The Shippon - originally a milking parlour - was built in 1904, before being lovingly converted into guest accommodation in 2007, and has undergone a series of constant improvements ever since.
The Shippon is a spacious ground-floor conversion, sleeping up to three people (single occupancy supplement applies), with a large, brand-new, full-size fitted kitchen, including double oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, dining table and chairs. To the rear, the sitting room opens onto a large patio with seating - part of a south-facing walled garden - whilst to the front, there's parking right outside your door.
Elsewhere, the individually designed apartment includes smart TV, king-size bedroom with quality bedding, sprung mattress, wardrobe, full-length mirror, hairdryer and en-suite shower. There's a full-size single bed in the sitting room - again, with quality bedding and sprung mattress - and a separate shower room with level access, grab rails, large fluffy towels on heated rail and complimentary toiletries.
There’s underfloor heating throughout and free, unlimited superfast wi-fi too. In addition, we supply a complimentary selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits, whilst there will be fresh milk in the fridge as well.
Friendly dogs are welcomed to The Shippon (there's a one-off charge) with their own bowl, towel and throw, but they mustn't be left unattended in the building at any time. The Boathouse and many other cafés and pubs in Ellesmere accept dogs, whilst there are a plenty of countryside walks from your doorstep.
